Your initial appointment at Torrey Hills Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Occasionally, surgery can be performed the same day as the consultation. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan will require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide time to prepare for proper and safe individualized treatment.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
A referral slip from your doctor and any other important communications.
A list of prescription, over-the-counter and herbal medications you are presently taking.
If you have medical or dental insurance, bring your insurance card.
Please take advantage of our online forms for patient registration. This will save you time on the day of your appointment.
IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the initial consultation visit.
A pre-operative consultation and physical examination is required for patients undergoing intravenous anesthesia for surgery. Please have nothing to eat or drink including water for at least 8 hours prior to your surgery. You will also need an adult to drive you home.
Please alert our staff if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves, artificial joints, etc.) or if you are currently taking any medication (i.e. heart medications, blood thinners, etc.).
X-Rays
If your dentist or physician has taken x-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office. If additional imaging is necessary, it can be performed at our office.
